Welcome to my home page!
I am Dr. Rosamani D'Souza and I am a hospitalist in the Modesto Medical Center. I was born and raised in Southern India and have lived in America for most of my adult life. I love the American concept of “Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness!”
I obtained my medical degree at Nagarjuna University Guntur School of Medicine, Nagarjuna Nagar, India. I then completed two internships at Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System in Los Angeles, CA and San Joaquin General Hospital, in French Camp, CA, respectively. Thereafter, I completed my internal medicine residency at San Joaquin General Hospital. I chose internal medicine because it allows me to get a good understanding of organ systems within the human body and their complex interplay. I practice hospital medicine because I like the acuity of the hospital setting and derive tremendous gratification from seeing patients get well and leave the hospital. Now that I have practiced medicine for many years, I realize that it is the perfect career choice for me.
I feel fortunate to be working at Kaiser Permanente especially since it has recently been ranked 2nd in the large employer category among the 100 Best Places to Work in the Bay Area! (Business Times/Business Journal/April 7-13, 2006.) We have a great team approach with the main emphasis being: “Prevention is better than cure!” I have also been a patient at Kaiser Permanente since giving birth to both of my children at a Kaiser Permanente facility. I was impressed with the comprehensive and well-coordinated care I received.
When I am not working, I indulge myself in the simple joys of life, like biking around the neighborhood park with my husband and two little children. I love working out, dancing, swimming, and cooking gourmet Indian cuisine. As a family, we have just started to venture out on kid-friendly vacations to different corners of the planet!
Besides English, I speak Hindi, Telugu fluently.
My Philosophy of Care
I like to educate my patients about their disease process, so they can assume more control over their own care.
Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
