My Biography

I started my undergraduate studies at Midland Lutheran College in 1984. I transferred to Wayne State College and graduated with a B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1989.

I attended medical school at The University of Health Sciences, which is now called Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. After obtaining by D.O. degree in 1993, I began my specialty training in psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After two years, I transferred to San Francisco where I finished my last two years of psychiatry residency training at California Pacific Medical Center. I am licensed to practice medicine in the State of California since May 1996. I earned my psychiatry certification as a diplomate in the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in January 2000. In 2002, I earned a MPA degree with a concentration in health services administration from the University of San Francisco.

My Work at Kaiser Permanente

I began working at Kaiser as a staff psychiatrist shortly after finishing my residency in July 1997. I work with adults in an integrated, multidisciplinary outpatient clinic. The focus of my work is in diagnostic assessment, psychotropic medication treatment, and consultation to other medical providers in the hospital around coordinated care of members with coexisting medical and psychiatric needs. I am very dedicated to providing excellent psychiatric care to every member of my caseload.

Contacting Me

I am located on the third floor of the tower building at 1200 El Camino Real. I am in the clinic Monday through Thursday. I can be reached through the Psychiatry Department's main number: (650) 742-2151. Messages may be left on my confidential voicemail 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (you will need to follow the telephone prompts when calling the department's main number). Rescheduling appointments is most efficiently done through the department's reception staff (follow the prompts when calling 742-2151). Both routine and "zero refill" medication requests should be directed to the pharmacy's automated refill system at 650-742-2888. If you have no refills remaining, the pharmacy will contact me directly.
