About Me:

Physical Therapy School: Samuel Merritt College
Residency: Kaiser Hayward Residency in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy
Joined Kaiser in: 2000
Specialty: Orthopedic Manual Therapy
Special clinical interests: The use of manual therapy and exercise for the treatment of occupation related injuries.

My Treatment Philosophy:

I see my role as being a facilitator in the functional recovery of my patients. I specialize in manual physical therapy, but also provide therapeutic exercises to restore function. My primary goal is to enable my patients to manage their symptoms, increase their function and avoid re-injury.

Biographical Information:

I became interested in health and wellness while growing up near Cleveland, Ohio. I pursued this interest in college where I received a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Kent State University and a master's degree in Exercise Science from Cleveland State University. After working in cardiac rehabilitation and in a chronic pain management program for about five years, I decided to pursue a career in physical therapy. I came to the Bay Area in 1996 to attend physical therapy school at Samuel Merritt College in Oakland, and I began working at Kaiser in the Occupational Health Department in 2000. In 2003 I completed the Kaiser Residency Program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy and have been a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists since 2006.

In my spare time, I enjoy almost any outdoor activity, especially jogging and cycling. I also enjoy traveling.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
