My Biography

My first job in a surgical ICU at the University of Virginia led to my interest in wound healing as the unit’s specialty was caring for difficult wounds. Upon moving to the West Coast, I enrolled in graduate school at UCSF and studied wound healing while working in critical care at San Francisco General Hospital. After graduation, I held a position as a clinical nurse specialist at Bothin Burn Center, St. Francis Hospital and developed an outpatient wound care clinic. I then returned to a post-graduate program at San Francisco State University and obtained nurse practitioner certification in order to care for patients as a health provider.

I am excited by the opportunity to work in Outpatient Surgery at Kaiser.

Our team is highly skilled and devoted to the care of patients with difficult wounds and includes Vascular Surgeons, General Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Podiatrists, the Minor Injury Clinic, and Home Care Services. Surgical RN's Rosie Welch and Evelyn Albaricin have many years of experience in wound dressing and skills and care.

In addition to my NP position on Kaiser’s wound care team, I work and volunteer at RotaCare, a free clinic for the uninsured. In time away from work, I keep busy as the parent of a teenager as well as in my garden, which grows like a jungle.

It is a privilege to be working at Kaiser’s Outpatient Surgical Clinic, assisting those with difficult wounds to heal.

For your scheduled appointment, please try to bring an updated list of medications and try to arrive a bit early, as parking can sometimes be an issue.

If you do not already have a referral, please contact our appointment/advice line at (650) 742-2188 to make an appointment with your personal physician.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
