I am pleased to offer my home page as a means to introduce myself and to provide you with high quality health information.

I have worked for The Permanente Medical Group since 1995, was the Assistant Chief beginning in 1997, and became the Chief of the department in November 2005. I have lived in California for most of my life but did my medical training in the Mid-west. While my administrative duties are taking up greater periods of my time, the reason I entered Psychiatry is because we are privileged to have long-term relationships with our patients. I have been at the Elk Grove facility since it opened in September 2003.

Outside of work I enjoy numerous outdoor activities and spending time with my family. My favorite activities include running and skiing. At work I am fortunate to be with many dedicated and professional colleagues of the highest quality. Our collaboration in working together as a clinic makes this a great enviornment in which to practice medicine.

Please take advantage of the many documents and links available through this site. For whatever reason you have come to this site, please click on and explore the Mental Health Resource Center as it contains a wealth of valuable information (and if you are already a patient of mine then you know I am a big fan of the Healthy Lifestyle programs).

My Credentials

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
