Welcome
I was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee (map). I spent eight great years in the Bay Area for college, a job downtown and then finally post-baccalaureate pre-med work. Medical school and residency took me to the East Coast for nine more years before I "saw the light" and came back to Northern California, my favorite area of the country.
Joining The Permanente Medical Group in 2002 has allowed me to become an active participant in the Emergency Department (ED). I am a member of both the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) .
In addition to my work in the ED, I serve as the IT Chief for the GSAA, helping clinicians take advantage of Kaiser Permanente's leadership position in information technology. I really enjoy this job and feel strongly that Kaiser Permanente's strength in IT places us on the nation's cutting edge for health care access, delivery and quality.
If you have been a patient in the ED, I've included some links on this page geared towards helping with discharge instructions and providing more information on various medical conditions. I want to do everything I can to make your experience in the ED and with Kaiser as comfortable and efficient as possible, and I hope that you find helpful some of the information provided through this page.
In my spare time, I enjoy travel, hiking, baseball, bridge and cruise-ship medicine.
