"It is with great pleasure in joining the warm and welcoming Kaiser Permanente. "
I am a native of Chicago as well as having been an undergraduate, medical student, resident, fellow and attending at Northwestern University. I graduated from Northwestern University School of Medicine Chicago, IL in 1972. I am board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008.
I have received high distinctions in my academics, teaching, professional achievements and leadership. I have a particular interest in biophysics as it pertains to heart surgery focusing on blood surface interfaces and particle systems. I have an expertise in complex re-operative cardiac surgery, valve repair and aortic arch procedures.
When not in the hospital, I can be found usually with my family of five children and wife, Lushan in the park, playing tennis. We chase around our dogs, cat, fish and hamster. look forward to getting to know all of you better.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
