I would like to welcome and thank you for visiting my home page. I am an anesthesiologist at the South Sacramento facility and have been with Kaiser Permanente since May 2001. As an anesthesiologist, I work in many areas of the hospital. Obviously the operating room is where I spend the majority of my time, but I also provide care in labor and delivery, radiology, ICU and in all other areas of the hospital from time to time.

It has been said that the two great modern medical advances are anesthesia and antibiotics. Think about all the amazing surgical accomplishments that we can now achieve, none of which would be possible without anesthesia. My philosophy has always been to first and foremost, provide a safe anesthetic. That should be the number one goal of any anesthesiologist. Secondly, I want my patients to feel comfortable with their care and to provide as pleasant an operating room experience that I can. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2001 after 5 years of practice at another local hospital. Professionally and personally, it was the best move I have ever made. I believe that the stability of the organization and its model for care provide me with the best combination of professional and personal satisfaction that exist in our current health care system. I am now able to concentrate solely on patient care, and that allows me to provide better care. Our integrated healthcare system and new electronic medical record system has allowed for access to medical information from all areas of care.

I hope you enjoyed my home page and that the links provided at the top left can answer some of the questions regarding anesthesia that you may have. If not, please feel free to call the department number or ask your surgeon to see one of our providers for a pre-op consultation.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
