Hello, my name is Ruth Jaeger. I am the Clinical Health Educator in the Department of Pediatrics for San Rafael, Petaluma and Novato. I work with parents to help them understand their child's unique Temperament and develop the best strategies to help with behavioral challenges. I also meet with school-age kids referred by their pediatrician to help manage the stressors in their lives, which may be causing physical symptoms (ie. headaches or stomachaches).

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 2005. I really appreciate the collaboration I have with the pediatricians in the department to provide psychoeducational support to their patients and their families.

In addition to my work at Kaiser, I also teach Child and Adolescent Development at Dominican University.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and the services I provide in the Department of Pediatrics at Kaiser Permanente. To complete a temperament assessment for children ages 4 months - 8 years, please go to The Preventive Ounce at www.preventiveoz.org. This temperament assessment was developed for Kaiser Permanente. It is very user-friendly and the information you learn about your child's temperament and how to work with his/her temperament can be invaluable. If you would like to consult with me after you have completed the questionnaire, you may phone me at 415-444-2823 and leave a message with your child's Preventive Ounce identifier number. For children ages 8 years-12 years, please phone me for a temperament questionnaire developed for older children.

My interests include reading, hiking, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. I know from many years of professional and personal experience, that understanding a child’s temperament can make a huge difference in the relationship that parents have with their children. I look forward to seeing you or your child in the clinic!
