My Profession and Why I Chose It

I am an internal medicine doctor working as a hospitalist at the Kaiser Permanente facility in Sacramento on Morse Avenue. A hospitalist is a medicine doctor who is responsible for patient care when they are admitted to the hospital for any reason. I decided to practice medicine in a hospital setting as I often feel this gives me an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life. I treat patients at a stage when they are sick enough to require hospital care. Once I treat them and they go home happy, it materializes my dream and my hopes soar. I love to lend a compassionate listening ear to my patients when they require it the most. Helping people to learn to care for themselves and giving them preventive tips to avoid future hospitalizations are equally important in my line of work.

My Credentials

Medical school Meerut University School of Medicine, Meerut, India
Internship Meerut University School of Medicine, Meerut, India
Residency Hurley Medical Center, Flint, MI
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been with Kaiser Permanente for almost three years now. In these three years I have learned so much from my patients, colleagues and supportive staff. When I completed my residency three years ago, I was skeptical about stepping into the real world of medicine. The close-knit atmosphere at Kaiser Permanente has given me so much confidence in making my decisions. I practice medicine at my free will but still have the opportunity to seek guidance from the subspecialists, my seniors and my colleagues anytime I need it. At times it becomes more of a team effort but we do strive to provide the best medicine to our members. Kaiser provides an excellent continuous learning experience with seminars, meetings and conferences. This helps us to keep pace with the medical advances and utilize them for our members.

My Professional Interests and Affiliations

I am a member of the American College of Physicians

About Me

I am married and live with my family in the Sacramento area. I like traveling and do harbor a dream of world tour one of these days. I love watching sports - professional baseball, football and hockey, just to name a few. My favorite team is the San Jose Sharks. Movies and music are some of my other hobbies. I love spending time with my family and friends as much as I am compassionate and crazy about my work.
