Becoming a physician fulfilled my dream of helping people who are most needy. Here at Kaiser Permanente, we emphasize disease prevention, which supports my philosophy of encouraging every person to live healthy and THRIVE.

As a nephrologist, I believe that sharing medical decisions with my patients is very important. I and my colleagues, Drs. Thu and Mercado, feel fortunate to work in an environment where quality care is first and foremost. I enjoy the balance between my clinical practice and administrative duties. My interest in peritoneal dialysis and critical care nephrology has been beneficial, as I’m currently involved in implementing a peritoneal dialysis unit at our South San Francisco campus.

I am an avid gardener and I enjoy spending time with my son.
