I was born in Los Angeles and attended the University of California at Santa Barbara for my undergraduate education. I later attended Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara for my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. I lived and worked as a Psychologist in Colorado for many years where I developed my specialty as a pain management Psychologist through extensive experience with multidisciplinary pain rehabilitation programs. I am currently licensed to practice Psychology in both Colorado (LIC #1565) and California (PSY 20328).

Background

While in Colorado, I learned to appreciate many of the unique challenges faced by chronic pain patients and their efforts to improve their sense of well-being and quality of life. I have also been extremely fortunate to have worked with many wonderful patients who are struggling with marital and family issues, grief and loss, stress, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, in addition to chronic pain. Most recently, before joining Kaiser, I had been providing mental/behavioral health services in a primary care setting to a rural population in Northern California.

My personal interests include travel, hiking, appreciating nature, tennis and skiing. I also enjoy reading, investing and learning about the mysteries of the mind/body connection.

I am honored and grateful to be joining Kaiser Permanente which is clearly committed to integrated health care and promoting both physical and emotional well-being. I am also pleased to be associated with the Chronic Pain Program and to offer a wide range of coping and stress management skills to patients who are looking to improve their overall health and quality of life.

I continue to enjoy working with patients to help them learn how to recapture the meaning, purpose and fulfillment in their lives despite the challenges and difficulties they face.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
