My Biography

Medical School: Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, CA
Internship/Residency: Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda,CA
Joined Kaiser Permanente Medical Group: 1993
Board Certification: Surgery-General, American Board of Surgery

Like most surgeons, I like to identify the problem and help the patient solve it. Many times this involves surgery. Current technology allows me to make smaller incisions (minimally invasive surgery) which results in less pain so patients are able to recover quicker.

When preparing for surgery, I evaluate the patient's entire medical condition to assess the best course of action to optimize surgical results and recovery. I oversee the patient's care in the immediate post-operative period, paying meticulous attention to details.

As a surgeon, I take appointments by referral. If you do not already have a referral, I suggest you call our appointment/advice line at (650) 742-2100 to make an appointment with your personal physician. To make an appointment in our sub-specialty department, please call (650) 742-2167.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
