Welcome to My Home Page!

I began practicing medicine in 2003 and joined Kaiser Permanente in 2007. My choice of career gives me the opportunity to combine my passion for service with my love of science and humanities. Medicine remains the perfect marriage of all my professional interests.

I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente because of the focus the organization has on prevention and community. I particularly appreciate the emphasis on quality patient care. Working at Kaiser Permanente enables me to pay full attention to the needs of patients by approaching medicine from a professional instead of a business perspective.

It is an honor and a privilege to take care of patients. My philosophy of care is to be present and supportive of every patient. I know that having an operation can be a very stressful, vulnerable time in a person's life. My aim is to reduce the worry felt by patients by understanding their feelings and supporting them through their operations.

I have a particular clinical interest in health education and disaster preparedness. I also have training in public health, including international health and epidemiology. I am a former Peace Corps volunteer where I served a community in Guinea, West Africa.

My Credentials

Medical school UC San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
Internship Highland General Hospital, Oakland, CA
Residency UC San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
Board certification Anesthesiology, American Board of Anesthesiology

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
