My Biography

While finishing my internship at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco, I came to appreciate the vast range of knowledge, experience and diversity within the Physical Therapy department. I chose to remain here because of the opportunity it provided for me to work with a diverse patient population and to learn and grow as a professional. Because I divide my time between the hospital and the outpatient clinic, I am able to work with a variety of patients and to care for them at various stages in their recovery. Plenty of opportunities arise where I can explore my varied interests in cardiology, neurology, and orthopedic physical therapy.

The best aspect of the KP health care model is the comprehensive, holistic approach to health care. As a physical therapist, I appreciate the emphasis Kaiser places on preventative health care and promoting healthy behaviors. My goal is to incorporate this into my daily practice.

I thrive by participating in many different activities. In the winter months I enjoy going up to Tahoe to snowboard, and in the spring and summer I play in a regular softball league. Recently, I have taken up yoga as a cross-training activity and to promote mind/body health. I enjoy running and make this my primary form of exercise. I recently completed my first half-marathon in February 2007!

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
