I am pleased to offer my home page as a means to introduce myself and to provide you with high-quality health information.
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1987. I accepted the position mainly because I wanted to stay in Sacramento so I could play tennis and go skiing. However I'm very glad I joined Kaiser because of the philosophy of medicine that we practice. We emphasize preventive care; however we also have at our disposal easy access to specialists and state of the art treatments. We are not required to obtain approval to do tests or begin treatments, and we are not paid more for doing additional tests or treatments. We can focus on your care. I try very hard to improve the health of my patients, however I expect my patients to make a maximum effort to help themselves as well, such as: stop smoking, eat properly, exercise, take prescribed medicines as advised and maintain follow-ups.
You are welcome to e-mail me with simple questions. If you are having significant problems, then please heed the instructions shown on the General Statement page or if appropriate call 688-4000. Don't leave urgent e-mails since I am able to read my e-mail every few days, and it may take a week or longer for me to get back to you. Please include your name, medical record number, and phone numbers with your e-mail.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ray Rozema

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
