Welcome to My Internet Home Page

Welcome to my home page. I am excited to join the Kaiser Permanente Manteca, Chemical Dependency Recovery Program (CDRP). Here at Kaiser Permanente Manteca CDRP. I hope to be able to provide you with information, education, and support to be able to effectively cope with life's stressors as it relates to chemical dependency.

About Me

I attended California Paramedical and Technical College, Long Beach CA in 2001. My credentials for counseling came from the California Certification Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CAADAC).

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008. I enjoy the freedom to maximize my scope of practice. My expectations when joining Kaiser Permanente were exceeded when I met a team of providers which consisted of mental health and certified alcohol and other drug (AOD) counselors. The team of providers I belong to is an all star and elite team. All of us are passionate about servicing patients’ needs and create a comfortable working environment.

When I am not working, I enjoy taking road trips with my wife and three daughters and dining out. I also like to spend quality time to read good books. I enjoy staying home on rainy days, watching good movies and eating hot pizza. Nurturing my spirituality with music, literature and devotions has been very rewarding to myself and to my family. It is a way of life for me and not just a weekly activity.

My Philosophy of Care

Change is difficult and most of the times it may be a frightening notion for some people. Dealing with the population of those who are chemically dependent, I have discovered that most of the times it is used as a way to cope with their life circumstances. Others are finding life difficult or unable to find something meaningful in life which chemical use and abuse provide them with a temporary solution. In my scope of practice, I utilize motivational interviewing and rational emotive behavioral therapy skills to help navigate patients to their desired goals. I act as a change agent in assisting them to execute and maintain consistency with their lifestyle change and lead them to an abstinence from alcohol and other drugs.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
