My Background
I was born in Singapore. I attended college at UCLA and Medical school at UC, Davis. I completed my internal medicine internship at UC, Irvine, and emergency medicine residency at Denver General Hospital/University of Colorado. I have been a board-certified specialist in Emergency Medicine since 2001. I have further educational experiences in international healthcare systems in China and Taiwan.
About Me
I went into medicine because it is a profession that cares and does not discriminate against anyone seeking care. I chose Emergency Medicine in order to be on the frontline of caring for the sickest among us. Another areas of interest to me are teen health—drug, alcohol, pregnancy, STD, and HIV prevention
When I am not working I enjoy travel, hiking, exploring the Bay Area, cooking, dining out, art and design, tennis, volleyball, science fiction and fantasy novels.
My Philosophy of Care
Even though I specialize in treating emergent conditions, I still like to advise my patients to see their personal physicians regularly for preventive care. It is much easier to manage medical conditions before they acutely worsen. However, when treating emergent patients, I strive to deliver expert care in the most compassionate manner.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
