Welcome to my home page!

My Practice Philosophy...
As a pediatric endocrinologist, my relationship with my patients and their parents, and their trust in me are of utmost importance. As a physician who takes care of children with chronic medical problems like diabetes, thyroid problems, growth problems etc., my goal is to provide my patients and families with comprehensive care and education which ensures the best possible management of their medical problem.
My Background...
I am a native of India. I received my medical degree in India in 1978 and then completed three years of pediatric residency at Martin Luther King Jr. county Hospital, Los Angeles and Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco. Subsequently, I completed post doctoral fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Stanford University Medical Center. I have been with Permanente Medical Group since 1986. My medical interest is Endocrine problems in children. In addition to English, I speak Hindi and can understand Punjabi. On a personal note, I enjoy travelling and spending time with my family. Additionally, I plan to stay involved in community projects in my native country, India.
My Recommendations...
I encourage my patients and families to actively participate in their healthcare, taking advantage of our preventive care- Immunizations, regular well care visits. Additionally, I believe in providing extensive education to my patients and their parents regarding their medical problem, especially families who have to deal with chronic medical problem. I have observed that patients (and parents) who understand their medical condition well and actively participate in their medical care have better health overall.
