Welcome to my web page.

While in medical school, I developed a strong interest in physiology and that led me to choose anesthesiology as my area of specialty.

My Background

I was born and raised in India. I attended one of the prestigious medical schools in South India. After graduating from medical school, I did postgraduate training in anesthesiology at Hyderabad the capital of Andhra Pradesh. After a short stint with the National Health Services of England, I immigrated to the U.S. and had to do the training all over again. However, I was fortunate to do most of the training at Stanford University.

About Me

I thoroughly enjoy spending time in the OR, providing anesthetic care to the patients, in what ever form they need it. I am particularly interested in regional anesthetic techniques, which often is an additional tool in the management of post-operative pain. Similarly, I like working in the pain clinic where I spend two to three days a week. Although I get to see a variety of clinical problems in the pain clinic, over the years I have developed a special interest in the management of patients with RSD.

I believe in treating every patient with the dignity and respect they deserve. I completely agree with the KP promise of quality care in a timely fashion. Towards that end, Kaiser provides me with a hassle free practice environment where patient welfare takes precedence over any other consideration. The collegial atmosphere also provides for consultation and collaboration among peers in order to render the best possible care to the patients.

I like reading classic Indian literature. I also love Indian music.

A little advice…

My advice, if you are a patient, is to be informed. Know your health condition, including all your current medications to the best of your ability which will enable you to actively participate in your health care.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
