My Biography
I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco because of the strong clinical genetics services this department provides. I also value working alongside colleagues who are committed to delivering the most optimal care possible to such a diverse patient population. Kaiser’s health care model offers integrative preventive care across the lifespan. Within this department, if needed, we provide for ongoing care of complex disorders. I would like to expand this to eventually include inherited metabolic disorders.
What drew me to the field of genetics is the comprehensive nature of its practice. Caring for the entire family, not just the individual patient, is an important aspect of genetics practice. Every detail and piece of information—no matter how small—may provide a clue to a diagnosis. I’m especially interested in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with inherited metabolic disorders. I also have an interest in neurogenetics. It’s gratifying to know that I’m making a difference in patients’ quality of life by helping them understand the complex concepts of genetics and how it applies to their overall health.
During my leisure time, I enjoy reading a variety of books, movies, and spending time with my family. I keep myself healthy and thrive by jogging and swimming.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
