To my former patients,

My current position as of April 2008 is in the Out-Patient Continuuing Care of the South San Francisco Medical Department. This branch of our Medical department reaches out to our homebound members who find it very physically taxing to come into the Medical Clinic. Patients must be referred to this department by their primary care provider.

Basically, I bring the clinic to the home via my laptop computer. I still have the support of physicians in our program in addition to the specialists in the clinic and the emergency department. Because my current patients tend to have a more serious advanced medical condition than people seen in the clinic they need to be followed more closely. Out-patient care is about living the highest quality of life possible and caring for you with your values and wishes in mind. I want to ensure that our services meet the needs and expectations of our Kaiser members.

I originally joined Kaiser in 1968 as a staff nurse in the Hayward Emergency Room. In 1984 I received my Masters in Nursing at University of California, San Francisco. In 1985 until 1992 my husband was transferred overseas and fortunately had the experience of working in the British National Health Care system. During the Gulf War, from 1991 to 1992 I worked in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. My return to Kaiser was in 1992 and then worked in the Medical Clinic until 2008.

Outside the work place I am a Foster City Lions Club Member and co-chair of Foster City's 4th of July celebration. My political foray extended from 1997 through 2005 as a School Board Trustee in the San Mateo-Foster City School District.

I also have four grandchildren who live near to me and the bumper sticker that says, "If I had known grandchildren were so much fun I would have had them first," is true.

Please feel free to contact me. My phone number is 650 827 6382.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
