I would like to welcome you to my homepage.

As an Emergency Physician, I diagnose and treat conditions resulting from sudden illness or injury. I see pediatric, geriatric patients and everyone in between. I am also here in case you can not reach your doctor or obtain care anywhere else.

I work at both the Hayward and Fremont emergency departments, and sometimes in the Minor Injury Clinic at Hayward. In a typical day, I see about 15-18 patients a 10-12 hour shift, ranging from a simple sore throat to severely ill patients with multiple medical problems--and every now and then, I resuscitate people.

Emergency medicine is probably the only specialty where on a daily basis, a couple of minutes can mean the difference between life and death. I try to be efficient, work fast and see the sickest people first. But no matter how sick you are, you will get the best and most thorough care from me. A mentor once told me: "treat every patient as if he or she were a member of your family." That, in short, is my practice philosophy.

I came to Kaiser Permanente in 2006, right out of residency. I initially started in Sacramento area, but then moved to the East Bay to be closer to my family. I was ecstatic when the opportunity became available to join TPMG.

My older sisters and brothers came from Viet-Nam as part of the "boat people" wave in 1980’s. The rest of the family, including myself and my mother, came later to join the family. I attended UC Davis as an undergraduate with Biochemistry major. Then I worked for 2 years as a Research Assistant at a Biotech Company. Subsequently, I’ve decided to go back to Medical School to follow my life-long dream of becoming an Emergency Physician. I am married and have one child currently.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
