About Me

I was born and raised in Yangon, Myanmar formally known as Burma. I graduated from the Institute of Medicine (1) in Yangon, Myanmar in 1999 and then came to the United States to complete my residency at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. My medical interests include the areas of anesthesia and pain.

I became an anesthesiologist because it brings me joy knowing that I am able to help ease patients’ anxiety and pain as they are going through surgery. Kaiser Permanente provides patients with comprehensive health care which allows me to fulfill my goal of caring for patients as the utmost priority. I moved to the Central Valley because of the easy access to different places with great outdoor activities.

My Hobbies and Interests

I am married and we have a son. When I am not working my personal interests include spending time with my family, reading the news as well as participating in outdoor activities. I also speak Burmese and some Chinese.

My Philosophy of Care

Beyond ensuring patient's comfort, our primary role in the operating room is to make informed medical judgments to protect and regulate the patient's critical life functions. Also, anesthesiologists are the doctors who will immediately diagnose and treat any medical problems that might arise during surgery or the recovery period. To me, providing anesthesia care is a tremendous responsibility and I consider my patient as if he or she is my family member.
