Welcome to My Home Page!
My first experience in physical therapy was when I was in elementary school. I had many physical therapy sessions after multiple surgeries for a broken leg and knew that someday I wanted to become a physical therapist. I earned a BS in Health Science from Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, CA. After graduating from St. Mary’s, I went onto earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA.
One of the things that I like most about my work is getting to know my patients. I have learned an immense amount from their stories, in regards to both their physical issues and their life stories. Similarly, I enjoy working for Kaiser Permanente since they offer a collaborative team approach, their emphasis on prevention, and have invested in a cutting edge electronic charting system.
My core philosophy in treating my patients is twofold. First I want to fully understand what is hurting the patient, what they are having trouble doing, and what they want to get back to doing. I feel that by understanding this picture I can best find ways to help the patient. Secondly, I want to use my time with my patients to educate them on how to manage or improve their symptoms when they are not in my office. I feel that by empowering my patients with this knowledge they will be able to take control of their own well-being and thereby improve their musculoskeletal issues.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
