About me

I grew up in Southfield, Michigan, and moved to California in 1982. I have been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner at Kaiser Permanente since 1992 at the San Francisco and Walnut Creek Medical Centers. I became a Nurse Practitioner (NP) because I wanted to work with the prevention side of health care more than just the treatment side that I was seeing as a hospital RN. My job here in Employee Health/Occupational Health is really very much about prevention and wellness for the staff of Kaiser Permanente. I have many wonderful resources here and a built in peer group to consult with.

In my free time I like to travel, garden, and read when I am not tending to my two Shetland Sheepdogs.

My Education and Credentials

Undergraduate Education BS in Nursing, California State University, Los Angeles
Nurse Practitioner Education University of California, San Francisco School of Nursing
Post Graduate Training MSN from University of California, San Francisco
Certification Occupational Health Nurse Specialist

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
