My Qualifications

I received my medical degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and completed my residency with the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. I have two board certifications: Internal Medicine - by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine - by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 1993 and currently work in the Emergency Departments of Sacramento and Roseville. Emergency Medicine has been my career interest since initiating my medical training.

My Healthcare Practice

As an Emergency Physician, I am committed to the timely and efficient management of emergent medical conditions. I enjoy the variety and pace of Emergency Medicine. During your stay in the Emergency Department, it is my goal to listen closely to your concerns, treat you with courtesy and respect, diagnose and treat any emergent conditions, and assure proper follow-up as needed. My specific interests in Emergency Medicine include quality management, urgent care, and infectious diseases.

Receiving Your Healthcare from Kaiser Permanente

Among the many advantages to being a member of Kaiser Permanente are two which I feel are unique to our system: coordinated medical care and a growing centralized health information system. Our group model allows your doctors to communicate freely and work together to provide you prompt and up to date medical care. As we transition to a system that will have most patient information on computers, your doctors will be even better aware of your prior history, present medications, test results and special needs. Through the computer, I can quickly review your health information prior seeing you in our department. Kaiser is among the leaders in health information technology in the United States.

Outside Interests

I am an avid golfer and Green Bay Packer fan. I also enjoy skiing, travel, reading and music. I am originally from Wisconsin but have lived in the Sacramento area with my family since 1984. I have two nearly grown daughters, and will soon have an “empty nest” at home

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
