About Me
I joined Kaiser Permanente in Oakland in 1993 as an Interventional Radiologist, and it was the best career decision I could ever have made. After twelve years and countless changes in medicine, I feel very fortunate to be a part of what I consider to be the best health care organization around.
Our goal in Interventional Radiology is to provide the best possible quality of care and service to our patients. I feel very lucky to work with a wonderful group of receptionists, assistants, technologists, nurses and fellow physicians in pursuit of this goal. My special areas of interest in IR include minimally invasive treatment of liver, lung and kidney tumors, TIPS, treatment of diseases of the biliary system, endovascular repair of aneurysms, and stroke prevention.
In addition, I am pleased to serve as Chief of Radiology at our Richmond campus. Our department in Richmond is growing by leaps and bounds, and our superb staff is committed to providing excellent service to our members.
I am a native of the East Bay where I live with my wife, daughters and dog. My outside passions include basketball, bicycling and backyard gardening. I am a fan of the Cal band and Cal athletics, the El Cerrito High School Mountain Bike Team, and the El Cerrito Soccer Club.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
