My Biography
My position at Kaiser Permanente was the next logical step up my career ladder. I was searching for a position that required a licensed social worker, and the multidiversity of Kaiser Permanente’s patient population drew me, along with the numerous learning opportunities. I feel that I can never become sterile here with all of the constant improvements, new theories, and new practices I learn. Training is continuous, so I am always current. I enjoy all aspects of San Francisco’s multicultural population, including the food!
Here at Kaiser Permanente my role is a multifaceted one. I partner with the geriatric psychiatrist team, I am part of the crisis team, and I am also coordinator of the outpatient psychiatry case management team. I am a full-time case manager, with special interests in gerontology, crisis intervention, and Asian populations. I experience a palpable, positive energy in my department, and I learn something each day. In part, this is because Kaiser Permanente hires people who take pride in their work. The organization wants each staff member to understand her role and commitment.
I try to thrive in a few different ways. For example, I try to get enough sleep, maintain a positive attitude on the job, and I enjoy listening to classical music. I have a very cohesive family and we bike, swim, and walk together.
Away from the office, I like traveling to see new vistas, and attending outdoor activities like festivals and street fairs. I love watching movies.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
