How to Use My Home Page...

My Biography

I am a fourth-generation Bay Area native, so I was well aware of Kaiser Permanente’s longstanding reputation of excellence. Patients who come to Kaiser Permanente have access to outstanding medical care. During my physician assistant education, I completed some training in Kaiser Permanente’s pediatrics department and was impressed by the care provided. When I got the chance to work at Kaiser Permanente I didn’t hesitate. I have now been here for 19 years, and have no plans of going elsewhere!

When I come to work, I don’t have the sense that I am here just to perform a job. A key part of my practice philosophy is providing real service to others. It’s my opinion that if people do not enjoy serving patients this is the wrong line of work for them. I find my work in this department to be very stimulating. My colleagues are also great people. My area of special interest concerns cardiac surgery issues.

I believe in lifelong fitness. I like to ski and run. I have completed two marathons with a plan for a third, and one triathlon. I have two daughters, aged 7 and 11, and I enjoy being a part of their world.

Year Began Practice: 1986

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
