Welcome to my home page. Please use this web page to better understand who I am and how I like to practice. You will also find links to helpful health education information.

I have practiced physical therapy since graduating from Stanford University in 1981 with my Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Since that time I have practiced in hospital and outpatient clinical settings. Eventually, I began to specialize in rehabilitation of patients with spine problems and those who were injured on the job. I also have a strong background in manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.

I came to Kaiser Permanente in June of 1986. I have served in both management and clinical roles. I am now focusing my clinical practice in the Occupational Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Departments.

The goal of all physical therapy is to restore lost functional abilities. I enjoy working with my patients to educate them on the best ways to achieve this goal. I take great pride in helping others getting back to work and play.

I am an active member in the American Physical Therapy Association and have held a variety of positions in the Golden Gate Chapter of the California Physical Therapy Association. Additionally, I have volunteered my time to both the UCSF/SFSU School of Physical Therapy and also to the Samuel Merritt College, School of Physical Therapy.

I am a proud father of two boys and have volunteered over the years to coach Little League baseball, basketball, and AYSO soccer. I am interested in camping, fishing, cooking, and gardening—including fuchsia and begonia culture. Additionally, for the past fourteen years, I have been an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 301 in Belmont, CA.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
