Patricia S. Smith, RN, MSN
Regional Craniofacial Nurse Coordinator

Welcome to the Genetics Multi-Specialty Clinics at Kaiser Sacramento!

About Me

I have a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from California State University, Hayward. (The university was recently renamed California State University, East Bay.) In December 2004, I completed my Master of Science Nursing degree from California State University, Sacramento. For the past seven years, I worked full-time as a school nurse. Prior to my school nursing experience, I spent many years practicing in acute care within the departments of Discharge Planning and Continuity of Care, coordinating and managing the care of patients who experienced temporary and sometimes permanent life style changes.

In September of 2006, I joined the Genetics Department, Multi-Specialty Craniofacial Clinic as a nurse coordinator. In this role, I coordinate and case manage the care of patients who are diagnosed with congenital craniofacial anomalies. Recently, I became a member of the American Cleft Palate Association in order to expand my knowledge base in the fascinating area of genetics. During my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with my spouse of twenty-five years, our two young adult children, our chocolate lab and listening to jazz music.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
