My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am an internist, specializing in diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of common, unusual and serious adult diseases. I completed my residency training in internal medicine and board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. While most internists do much of their work in hospitals, I decided to focus my practice on outpatient primary care because I enjoy the continuity of care and relationships built with patients in the ambulatory setting.

My Practice Philosophy

I strongly believe in preventive medicine and patient education, helping patients maintain their health and enjoy life to the fullest. I also strongly value good communication with patients and staff as well as health education individualized to my patients.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been a part of Kaiser Permanente since 2005. I first encountered Kaiser Permanente as a patient over 10 years ago. I was already then impressed by the compassion and knowledge of my doctors as well as the efficiency and convenience of Kaiser Permanente itself. Having been with Kaiser Permanente, I have worked with well accomplished and very caring clinicians and have experienced first-hand the collaborative environment that allows for effective communication, resulting in better health management for all patients.

In addition to the people and the environment, I also enjoy the autonomy I have at Kaiser Permanente as a physician; to be able to practice the way I want. Kaiser Permanente allows doctors to care for their patients as they see appropriate and further assist them in offering patients a vast array of resources, specialists, health education and convenient health services.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

On a Personal Note. . .

I lived in Los Angeles most of my life and partially in the Philippines when I was younger. I attended college in southern California, spent some time in the Mid-west for medical education and the Bay Area for residency training. I now live in Rocklin with my husband and our puppy. No kids yet. We enjoy northern California a great deal since we like biking, hiking, (and if it's raining, the Wii Fit) as well as the ample parking and minimal traffic (so far). We also enjoy fine dining, shopping and traveling.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
