My Profession and Why I Chose It

I am a radiologist. I interpret various studies, such as CT, ultrasound or MRI scans, mammograms and x-rays and do some fluoroscopy studies such as upper GI and barium enema exams. I enjoy helping to solve clinical problems by using these various studies.

My Credentials

Medical school State University of New York School of Medicine, Syracuse, NY
Internship UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Residency UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Fellowship Stanford University, Stanford, CA
Board certification Diagnostic Radiology, American Board of Radiology

My Practice Philosophy

I try to use as much clinical information as I have available to better evaluate the patient radiological studies.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been a radiologist with Kaiser since January 2001. Prior to that, I was a radiologist with a private practice group for 13 years. I was an emergency room doctor for 2 years and a general practice doctor for 5 years with Kaiser Permanente before I did my residency and fellowship in radiology.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I like the integration of hospitals, labs, outpatient clinics and primary care and specialty physicians. The computerization of medical records is great and makes my job so much easier.

My Professional Interests and Affiliations

My fellowship was in CT/Ultrasound/MRI, but I also enjoy mammography. I belong to the American Roentgen Ray Society

My Personal History

My husband and I have three sons. I enjoy reading, hiking, step aerobics and watching baseball.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
