About Me

I am a LCSW and have been licensed since December 5, 2000. I received my master's degree in social work in 1991 with emphasis on mental health from Sacramento State University. I have worked in mental health since 1984 for Sacramento County. I have worked for seven years with Sacramento County Mental Health Treatment Center as a mental health crisis counselor and have also worked for several years with TERKENSHA outpatient mental health with adults and children. I am working part time with Kaiser Permanente in the Department of Psychiatry for Kaiser Sacramento as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the Crisis Team.

The Crisis Team in the Department of Psychiatry provides treatment and intervention for psychological emergencies. Our clinicians work on a multi-disciplinary team that is made up of MDs, Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Marriage Family Therapists. We provide treatment and intervention at Sacramento, Morse Avenue and Roseville Parkway Out-Patient Clinics, the Roseville and Sacramento Emergency Departments and the Roseville and Sacramento in-patient medicine units.

My reason for being a social worker is that I like helping others. Sometimes, having someone to talk to makes a big difference and I like to believe that being able to offer "just listen" experience can make a lot of difference to others. I believe in treating my patients the same way I would like to be treated. Working here at Kaiser Permanente I have that opportunity.

On a personal note, I enjoy spending my time with my husband and son. I like reading, going to flea markets looking for that "good deal" and best of all having fun with my family. I like to exercise but at times I am not very diligent about it. I also like to travel with my family and see new sights.
