About Me

I initially chose medicine as a career after sustaining a personal injury in gymnastics and having experienced orthopedic surgery. I have been working in the medical field for many years now. I worked in Physical Therapy for 10 years prior to going back to school to become a Physician's Assistant (PA).

I have had the privilege of practicing at Kaiser Permanente since 2002. I appreciate working for Kaiser Permanente because as a care provider I'm given the ability to deliver quality health care by ordering appropriate diagnostic imaging, lab work, and supplying appropriate treatment options. I also enjoy my work because I have great colleagues and co-workers I can partner with.

My research and clinical interests include orthopedics, trauma, and sports medicine. In clinic, I enjoy the wide variety of patients I meet and the range of injuries and ailments I am able to treat. My practice philosophy is to treat the whole person and facilitate the body's natural ability to heal.

My personal interests include basketball, bicycling, carpentry, and golf.

My educational background and board certification are as follows:

Undergraduate Education: AB in Physical Therapy, University of California, Berkeley
Physician Assistant Education: Samuel Merritt College Physician Assistant Program, Oakland
Certification: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant
Certification: American Council on Exercise
Membership: American Academy of Physician Assistants
Membership: California Academy of Physician Assistants
Membership: American Council on Exercise

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
