I became a doctor as I felt this profession would add more meaning and excitement to my life. I would be able to help people and pursue my interests in the science of human biology.

I became an intensivist and a pulmonologist as I found it extremely fulfilling to work with critically ill patients. It has been a very rewarding experience. I feel very accomplished when a patient who has been deathly ill does well and is discharged home. Timely and appropriate care makes a huge difference. Thus the motto, "Right care, right now".

I joined Kaiser Permanente as I feel the organization allows me to practice medicine freely without having to deal with the business aspects of practicing medicine. I am able to provide the appropriate health care my patients need.

My philosophy of healing:

• encourage healthy living - regular exercise, a healthy diet, and weight control
• prevent communicable diseases, as with vaccination; and very importantly,
• avoid any medications or procedures that are not clinically warranted

My personal interests include dining out, music, & reading. My goal is to try to read a non-medical book each month.
