Hello! Thank you for visiting my Home page.

I look forward to helping you with your medical needs.

I have been practicing nephrology (kidney disease) for 11 years. My desire to practice nephrology started when a very dear childhood friend, in India, developed kidney failure. Her father donated her one of his kidneys; however, her body rejected the kidney and my friend died. That event had a profound impact on me and started me on the path of a medical career, and eventually a specialization in nephrology.

Since kidney disease is a chronic illness, I believe in educating my patients and their families as much as possible about the prevention and cure of kidney disease. This gives them the knowledge about making appropriate changes in their lifestyles to slow the progression of their disease. It also makes them more comfortable to cope with all the medical issues in a vey supportive environment consisting of their family and me.

I was born and raised in Delhi, India. I am fluent in English and Hindi. I am happily married and have two daughters and a son, and we have an adorable Shitzu dog. In my spare time I enjoy spending time on the beach, reading, working out at the gym, and an occasional round of golf with my husband (when he insists a lot!).

Once again, welcome to my web page and feel free to click on the links to learn more about the risk factors for kidney disease, such as diabetes & hypertension.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
