Welcome to my home page!
Good day – and zdoroven’ki buli’ – this is Ukrainian for "Hello" but the exact translation is – good health to you!
I want this page not only to give some personal information, but mainly to be a resource of useful web links that can help you to better understand your situation and the whole field of Hematology and Medical Oncology, and to get means of support throughout these frequently difficult and challenging times.
I grew up in the beautiful country of Ukraine where my husband and I graduated from the medical school in 1995. During my studies I had an opportunity to work in the regional Hematology and Oncology center as a registered nurse and as a research assistant and hence these fields of Medicine became very important parts of my life. After coming to the United States with our families, my husband and I, having had literally zero cents in our pockets, had to work at several jobs, and my favorite one was in Special Education in the Palo Alto Unified School District. Meanwhile with the help of some wonderful people I was able to complete additional training and Medicine rotations at Stanford University and Palo Alto Medical Foundation.
Eventually after passing necessary exams I completed my Internal Medicine residency and Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship. Although the last place where we lived – La Jolla, CA – deserved the name of a jewel, we never stopped hoping to return to the San Francisco Bay Area to be closer to our families. Since moving to the heart of Marin County in 2005, we really feel blessed to live and work here – and of course to have our two sons!
I believe having been exposed to both American and European medical systems has been extremely helpful in my day-to-day clinical experiences. In my practice, I try to concentrate not only on the most up to date information in regards to diagnosis, prognosis and treatment options, but to keep the most important issue, quality of life, which I believe is way too often overlooked, as the first priority and to always stay true to it. So, welcome and please let our staff and me know how we can help you and your family in this journey.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
