About Me

I became interested in ergonomics as a way to actively assist and empower people to care for themselves in their work and home environments. I believe using care and ergonomics principles helps us to stay healthy, comfortable and productive.

I received my Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Stanford University in 1980. I received my Bachelors Degree in Religious Studies/Psychology from Occidental College in 1978. I am a Certified Hand Therapist and a Certified Associate Ergonomist.

My medical interests are Ergonomics, Hand Therapy and Physical Therapy.

When I am not working I enjoy Tai chi, traveling for fun, spending time with my daughters and extended family, writing and telling stories. I am an enthusiastic member of Toastmasters International.

My Recommendations for You

Work as safely as possible. If you have concerns or discomfort at work, discuss them with your supervisor, manager, or union steward right away. Getting assistance and information quickly can help keep you comfortable and healthy, and can help to ease existing discomforts before they become injuries.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
