Welcome to my home page!
As one of the Pediatric Hospitalists at Kaiser Hayward, I provide medical care to children of all ages in the Emergency Room, Pediatric Ward, and the Nursery. No one ever wants his/her child to be sick, much less need to be hospitalized. My job is to make sure your child gets the best possible care for the speediest return to a normal childhood. A large part of that role is advocating for your family, providing you with the information you need to help us to make the right choices for your child.
I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where I am proud to say I received fantastic health care as part of the Kaiser Permanente family. My formal education took place at the University of Southern California, beginning with a bachelor of science in Biomedical Engineering and ending with both an MD and PhD in tumor immunotherapy.
Following medical school, I moved to the Bay area where I completed my internship and residency in general pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital and Research Center at Oakland. I then spent three additional years doing a fellowship in the field of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology with time split between the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Children’s Hospital Oakland. I am currently board certified in Pediatrics and am a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching Bay area sports, and cheering on my Trojans (Fight On!).

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
