About Me

I chose my specialty because of its unique mix of direct patient care and state-of-the-art technology. Radiation oncology, as practiced today, uses modern linear accelerators, computer-driven treatment planning, and precise tumor targeting to achieve better results with fewer side effects than in the past. Care begins at the start of a patient encounter. Emotional needs may require attention before physical needs can be met. As a physician, I have much to offer to those who need it.

My association as a TPMG physician began in February, 2003, when radiation oncology was in its infancy as a regional Kaiser Permanente program. Our program has continued to develop since then, with a doubling of the number of radiation oncologists. Our growth has allowed us to develop guidelines and move further toward a fully integrated specialty within Kaiser Permanente. Practicing as a Kaiser physician allows me to focus on patient care in cooperation with other dedicated physicians.

In my leisure time, I enjoy playing chess, taking urban hikes, and umpiring youth baseball.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
