My Biography

I came to work at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco because of the many opportunities the medical center offers for both learning and teaching. We serve a large, diverse, urban patient population which keeps my practice interesting and engaging. The residency program provides opportunities for me to have a hand in educating the next generation of doctors. Our centers of excellence situate optimal medical care within one system for easy, seamless access. Even our laboratory and pharmacies are located on-site. Health Connect, our centralized electronic medical record tool, ensures that your providers are current on all facets relating to your health care. Not only does Health Connect allow providers to review your medical history at a glance, but all clinicians on your care team are able to leave notations and instructions for one another.

I enjoy working with patients who are suffering with the disease of addiction and helping them towards recovery. I also work in hospital medicine where I find the scope and pace of my practice to be particularly stimulating. I am especially interested in methamphetamine abuse, prescription drug abuse, and HIV transmission with regards to drug use.

I THRIVE through visiting the gym every day and taking public transportation when it is practical for me to do so. During my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and snowboarding.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
