Hello, and Welcome to my home Page.

I am the youngest of five children, and around the dinner table there was a lot of medical discussion. Growing up around all the medicine, I knew that some day I would be a doctor. Most days I can’t believe that I am lucky enough to be living my childhood dream.

I finished my residency at Kaiser-Oakland, and then was lucky enough to be invited to stay for another year as the Chief Resident. Whoever said that “teaching is just having the opportunity to learn twice” was absolutely correct, or at least that was my experience as Chief Resident.

I hope that I am able to bring to bedside both the technical expertise and the humanity that a good doctor requires. I hope to listen and learn from my patients, and in turn teach them something about their diseases and about living well. Most of all, I hope to make them all smile at least once, everyday.

Outside of work, I love reading, writing, and playing golf.

My Credentials

Medical school Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA
Internship Botsford General Hospital, Farmington Hills, MI
Residency Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Oakland, CA

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
