About me

Even though I grew up and went to school in the Midwest, I have covered a lot of ground in the Bay Area. My internship was at a county hospital in the East Bay, anesthesia training at UCSF, and now I practice in Marin County.

The reason that I chose anesthesiology as my specialty was not only because of an interest in pharmacology and physiology but also because I enjoy being a member of the operating room team. The primary purpose of this team is to focus on the details of performing your operation and thereby ensure your well-being.

I came to Kaiser because one of my priorities is to practice medicine in a cooperative and supportive environment. From the anesthesia consultation to the recovery room, my goal each day is to ensure that all of our members have a safe and comfortable experience.

Because I have been a patient myself, as well as, the daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend of a patient, I understand that being in the hospital can be both emotionally and physically challenging. If I have the good fortune of meeting you, I will keep that in mind.

My Credentials

Medical school Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN
Internship Highland General Hospital, Oakland, CA
Residency UC San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
Board certification Anesthesiology, American Board of Anesthesiology

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
