Biography
I’m Dr. Minh Kim. I am a Hospitalist. Hospital Medicine is part of an Internal Medicine Specialty. I belong to a group of physicians taking care of patients in the hospital with acute medical problems. We are also doing medical consultant. Besides working in the Emergency Room, I also spend time teaching Residents, Interns and Medical Students, since Kaiser-Santa Clara is a teaching hospital sometimes, you will have a group of physicians attending your care.
My passion for Medicine was rooted from childhood. I grew up in a developing country where I can see people were sick and suffered due to the lack of medical necessities. I always wanted to help. When opportunity arrived, I chose to attend medical school and decided to specialize in internal medicine. Internal Medicine Specialty allows me to holistically approach my patients and not only their medical aspect, but also psychological, emotional, and social aspects.
Since patients are being hospitalized, they are nervous, anxious and worried.
I believe as a Hospital Medicine Doctor, I , not only attended their acute medical problems, but also being there and listening to patients’ needs. In addition, I believe in a power of knowledge. Helping patients understand their disease process is a key to the prevention.
Activities
Besides, enjoying being at the hospital taking care of patients, I play tennis, work out the gym and enjoy traveling.
