Welcome To My Home Page

Joined Kaiser Permanente Medical Group: 2008

Although I am not a native of the Bay Area, I now consider it home. I was born and raised in a small town in Ohio before moving to Chicago in 1992. After completing my undergraduate education at Northwestern University, I attended graduate school at Rosalind Franklin University, where my interest in radiation therapy began. Upon completion of my Master’s Degree in Medical Radiation Physics, I continued my education, earning my medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. I followed my wife to San Francisco in 2003, where I completed my internship in internal medicine and residency in radiation oncology.

In addition to immediately falling in love with the Bay Area, I was also exposed to Kaiser Permanente’s integrated health care system during my internship year. I was excited to see the improvement in patient care and satisfaction that results from a system emphasizing communication and increased access to medical information and records. Communication between patients and their physicians is the key to solid health care - and there is no field in medicine where this is more important than oncology. That is why I feel especially lucky in returning to Kaiser, where we focus on community and teamwork, resulting in the highest quality of patient care.

A diagnosis of cancer is never an easy situation to deal with, either for patients or their families. In addition to causing fear and sadness, it is often common to feel overwhelmed and confused. My goal is to create a partnership between you, your family and the oncology team in order to help you understand your disease, your options and to guide you through your treatment.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my wife, bowling, golf and attempting to ski.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
