Welcome to my home page which is designed to provide information about my commitment to child and adolescent mental health and my philosophy of practicing psychiatry.

I joined the outstanding group of physicians and therapists at Kaiser Permanente, South Sacramento in 2006. My pursuit of excellence is based on my belief that it is essential to use my training and my medical background to recognize emotional, thinking and behavioral disorders and to treat them medically by providing high quality care that is personalized to fit each individual patient. My interest in understanding human mood and thought lead me to my medical career.

I completed my fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Michigan, between 2002 and 2004. I worked as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Dean Health System in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin from 2004 to 2006. Before my Residency Program in Psychiatry at Michigan State University, I trained in Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" in Bucharest, Romania, and I worked as a Pediatrician for seven years.

During my medical practice, I have acquired an extensive clinical experience in working with both young and adult patients and have experienced their behavior and mental problems. So I came to realize that a good base of knowledge was extremely important for diagnosing and implementing an appropriate treatment for psychological disorders. While working with patients from a somatic functional standpoint, I was intrigued by the emotional responses which often accompanied body symptoms. It became clear that the psychological reaction of the patients and their families due to stress of a physical illness played a major role in the healing process. Above all, my medical experience has given me the strength, compassion and deep commitment to the wellbeing of my patients.

During my youth I developed a passion for ballet. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, traveling and playing tennis.

I am pleased to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente Team. In response to the particular needs of the patients, we offer a variety of psychiatric services ranging from diagnostic evaluation, medication management and crisis intervention to psychotherapy, mental health classes and parent management training.

Thank You for visiting my home page and I appreciate you sharing with me your thoughts about it.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
