Welcome to My Internet Home Page

I am Dr. NgocThuy (Michelle) Tran and I am a hospitalist in the Modesto Medical Center. I was born in Vietnam and grew up in Santa Clara. I received my undergraduate degree at University of San Francisco – Go Dons! I then obtained my medical degree at University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine followed by completing my internal medicine residency at University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles, CA. My medical interests include malaria research and pulmonary care.

Being a physician is perhaps the most rewarding and noble profession that suits my beliefs and interests. I joined Kaiser Permanente as it emphasizes on deliver quality care and promotes preventative care. Northern California has always held close to my heart. Having been raised in Santa Clara, Central Valley offers the best of both childhood memories and new discoveries.

When I am not working, I like painting, reading, kayaking, playing tennis and cooking. I was born in a great big family of six siblings. Besides English, I also speak Vietnamese and Spanish fluently.

My Philosophy of Care

I believe every patient is much wiser about his/her body and what ails them than any physician. As a physician who has been entrusted with patient care, it shall be my privilege to share in the patient’s care process and decision making without overshadowing his/her beliefs.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
