Welcome to my home page.

Thank you for visiting my home page and getting to know me. I joined Kaiser Permanente Central Valley in January 2005 and I work as a hospitalist.

Who is a Hospitalist?

A hospitalist is a physician who takes care of hospitalized patients. If you or your loved one is to be admitted to the hospital, your primary care physician might not be seeing you during your stay. You will however be seen and taken care of by our medical team of hospitalists. I work at the Modesto Medical Center.

About myself:

I graduated from St. John’s Medical College, India. After completing my internship, I worked for two years with missionaries in rural India.

I did my residency in Internal Medicine at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, NY and then worked as a hospitalist at the VA Medical Center, Oregon. I am interested in women’s health issues and gender differences in medicine.

I have a very supportive husband and I enjoy art work, embroidery, cooking, music, gardening and traveling. Besides English, I speak six other Indian languages and can speak basic medical Spanish.

My Philosophy of Care:

To me, taking care of the acutely ill, hospitalized patient is not only challenging but also extremely fulfilling. It involves not just taking care of the patients that we admit, but also their families, helping them understand disease process and working together as one team to help the patient get better.

I wanted to be able to have a good balance between my medical profession and family life and I found that with Kaiser Permanente, as it offers its physicians the opportunity to practice medicine for the art that it is,… and still be a person.

Select a personal physician - An important part of your health care experience at Kaiser Permanente includes building a relationship with your personal physician. If you haven't already selected one or want to change, click here to choose a personal physician for yourself or for a family member.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
